Walking every day on the streets of New York makes it easy to forget how special are the scenes we pass by. There are millions of tourists around, so photographers with fancy cameras are everywhere. As a contrast to my perfectionist side, in this article I am featuring photos taken with my Canon 7D DSLR side by side with photos taken by my Motorola Moto X smartphone. I invite you to guess which photo was taken by which camera....
Sometimes I'm too lazy to carry my 7D, but I always carry my phone. Even if I have my DSLR camera on me, I will always capture additional photos with my phone. The little phone cameras usually have a very wide-angle lenses that capture more of the surrounding than a normal DSLR kit lens at its widest angle (usually ~18mm).

I never let the crowd of people carrying cameras discourage me from taking photos. I strongly believe that each one of us has a different perspective of the world and thus, each one of us has the potential to create unique images even if we are all in the same place.
The streets of New York offer unusual moments; One of the things I like about this photo of a dog riding a skateboard is that, if you concentrate, you will notice in the background a silver statue mime artist passing by.
